Caroline Romain-Desfossés

Caroline Romain-Desfossés grew up in the Paris region. After studying applied arts and starting her career in fashion and textiles, she discovered illustration, a world where she found the perfect balance between drawing, color, and pattern.
Now based in Annecy, Caroline draws inspiration from the vibrant colors of the region, between the serenity of the mountains, the lake, and the city. She works mainly in gouache, a medium she loves for the intensity of its colors and the nuances created by water.
Among her influences, Félix Vallotton stands out for his bold color harmonies, which were ahead of their time, while Le Douanier Rousseau inspires her with his lush landscapes, which resonate with her strong taste for depicting natural settings.
