Roxane Lagache was born and raised in the Caribbean, where nature had a profound impact on her imagination. She began collaging twenty years ago when her mother, a former model, gave her her collection of LUI magazines in which she had posed in the 1970s. This gesture had a visual and aesthetic impact on Roxane. Since then, women’s bodies have been at the center of her work: she likes to immerse them, then re-immerse them endlessly in nature.
She began her career at a publishing house as a junior art director, before joining the creative agency Sid Lee, then the studio Kuntzel + Deygas. At the same time, she designed several visual identities for brands, for which she is still the art director today. Depending on the project, she combines different techniques, drawing, collage, and photography, as she did for the Arles-based concept store Moustique. Attached to traditional craftsmanship, she always draws her logos in Indian ink on paper. Since 2010, she has been in charge of artistic creation for the perfume brand Une Nuit Nomade. She has also created a series of short films dedicated to the world of Gabrielle Chanel: Inside Chanel.
In 2019, after fifteen years of digital collages, Roxane created her first paper collage (the woman in her shell). Two series followed: Women in Nature and Naked Yoga.
