Audrey Bertoia grew up in Vienne, a small town south of Lyon.
She studied graphic design at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and now lives in Biarritz, where she has set up her studio.
Since graduating, she has developed her practice mainly around oil painting, which she then deploys on all kinds of supports and commissions such as murals, posters, record sleeves, textile motifs etc…
Her pictorial research has led her to develop a painting practice in which she combines reality and fiction, real and imaginary landscapes.
She creates curious scenes where time seems to stand still, verging on the surreal.
Her paintings, often figurative and tinged with vivid colors, explore the human experience and its relationship with nature, poetry, music and dreams.
