Candice Roger

Candice Roger is a self-taught artist from Angers. After studying the art market in Bordeaux for several years, she decided to focus on practice rather than theory.
Influenced by comic books, horror films, and surrealism, she depicts often absurd situations that tend to appeal to the viewer’s imagination.
Using only a black pencil and a few touches of color, she attempts to convey a story or a simple thought. Her illustrations are tinged with black humor and cynicism, the common threads running through her work.
Candice exhibited her drawings for the first time at the Galerie En Face in Angers in 2014. Since then, she has been developing her artistic activity in Angers and regularly exhibits in Nantes and Paris, while also working as an illustrator for various magazines (Science et vie junior, Usbek & Rica, Revue XXI, etc.). She frequently collaborates with the Fishbrain screen printing workshop in Angers, where she has had her studio for the past five years.
