Frédérique Vernillet

Frédérique Vernillet is an illustrator and artistic director. After graduating with a degree in applied arts in 2003, she trained in textile pattern design. She lives and works in Paris.
Curious about all the possibilities her profession has to offer, she strives to vary her media and collaborations.
Since 2010, she has been creating original designs for the press, publishing, advertising, tableware, and the luxury sector.
At the same time, she develops wallpapers for private individuals, in collaboration with architects and designers.
Frédérique also presents her work in solo and group exhibitions (Galerie LJ, Salon du Dessin Contemporain, Drawing Now).
Frédérique draws in ink on grainy paper, using different levels of wear on her pen nibs to create different shades of gray and nuances of thickness. For colors, she uses a variety of techniques, ranging from colored pencils to digital tools and watercolors.
With her precise lines and poetic inspiration, she invites us into her surprising world, which is at once figurative, wonderful, and offbeat, composed of wild animals, faces, colorful birds, and lush foliage.
